Chicago is an ideal city for Getting Personal because of its historical connection not only to the Civil Rights Movement but also to the Women’s Liberation Movement.  After the founding of the National Organization for Women (NOW) in 1966 by prominent feminists throughout the country, Chicago served as the host city for the first national feminist conference just two years later in 1968.

The beautiful city of Chicago comprises two major airports: O’Hare and Midway, which makes flying in and out of the city convenient for travelers.  Visitors also have the option to ride the South Shoreline Train into Chicago, which is convenient for travelers who come from Indiana or Michigan, etc.  To navigate throughout the city, visitors can seek public transportation such as the Metra Train and L Train as an alternative to driving or traveling via Uber or Lyft.

Chicago is also home to or within close proximity of several universities including the University of Chicago (has a rhetoric and communication focus), University of Illinois at Chicago, and DePaul University (offers rhet/comp.)
