Inspired by feminist rhetorical theory which privileges, at its core, personal experience, empathy, humility, and respect, Getting Personal is a conference whose aim is to showcase and center the value of personal experience as a guiding force of invention and discovery and a valid methodology for scholarly research .
Getting Personal welcomes any scholarship that utilizes personal experience and personal narrative as a methodology or source of invention which reveals new avenues of inquiry or issues within rhetoric and composition and other related fields.
